New Educational Resource Packet
for Teachers
More than 700 Educational Resource Packets were recently prepared for area teachers from Heritage Center. The resource packet is designed to help teachers utilize the Center to enhance students’ learning using “in-person” experiences with historical artifacts, images and documents.
Made possible by a generous grant from the John Randolph Foundation, the 80-page resource packet was produced by the Heritage Center staff under the direction of Judy Hamby, Curriculum Specialist for the Center and a Board member. Teachers who enrolled in the Center’s 2009 Summer Enrichment Workshop assisted in the packet materials.
The packet includes an overview of the Heritage Center’s exhibitions, cooperative student projects for the classroom and
interactive gallery activities, and seven lesson plans for teachers.
